Story of the Week #1

The same story of the week, but this time it is in English.

Not our problem
It was a beautiful, sunny day throughout the kingdom. The king and his advisor sat together
and each ate bread with honey. The view from the window showed the square below the
castle and all the people gathered there. While they talked about this and that,, the king
leaned out the window to better look around. Just then a drop of honey dropped from the
king's bread, but the king did not notice that it fell down and landed on the windowsill.
And then ...
Plopp, plopp, plopp (can use your hand to show the drop as it drops)

The honey landed on the ground below the window. The advisor immediately noticed
when the honey droplet landed on the street and immediately asked the king.
"Your Majesty, a drop of honey fell to the ground. Should I have someone clean it up?"
"No no. It's not our problem", the king replied.

Soon a little fly came by. Swish, Swish, Swish (Can use hands together as a fly flying)
The fly landed on the honey and started eating the sweet meal. . The advisor immediately
noticed when the fly landed on the honey drop and promptly asked the king.
"Your Majesty, a fly is sitting on the street. Should I have someone clean it?"
"No no. It's not our problem", the king replied.

From the shadow under the castle came a little lizard. It looked right, left, right. Left, and
then snuck stealthily straight ahead and caught the fly with its long tongue. (Mums,
mums, mums) The advisor immediately noticed when the lizard began to eat the fly
and asked the king. "Your Majesty, a lizard sits down there eating a fly. Should I
have someone clean it up?"
"No no. It's not our problem", the king replied.

But a watchful cat had seen the lizard and ran across the square directly to the lizard.
The cat swiftly pounced on the lizard and in a second had the creature in her mouth.
Of course, the cat took a moment to enjoy playing with her food when a dog caught
sight of the cat and barked at the cat. voff, voff, voff The dog barked and the cat
hissed back. The advisor immediately noticed when the dog barked and the cat
hissed below in the street. The advisor quickly asked the king: "Your Majesty,
a dog and a cat sit down there and bother. Should I have someone remove them?"
"No no. It's not our problem", the king replied.

The king and the advisor continued to enjoy their food while the cat's owner came
and began to beat the dog with a stick. Then the owner of the dog arrived and began
to hit the cat with a stick. Then the two people began to hit each other with the
sticks. The advisor immediately noticed when the two people began to hit each
other with sticks and immediately asked the king: "Your Majesty, there are two people
down there who are striking each other with sticks. Should I have someone get rid
of them?"
"No no. It's not our problem", the king replied.

Then several friends to the cat owner came to help and several friends to the dog
owner joined the fight. At first they shouted, then their voices grew louder, and louder,
until they all started to use their fists and sticks to hit each other. With hands and
feets flying at each other, the fight grew. The advisor immediately noticed the
group of people who had tarted striking each other with sticks and immediately
asked the king: "Your Majesty, there are at least twenty people there who strike
each other with sticks. Should I have someone get rid of them?"
"No no. It's not our problem", the king replied, without even looking at the spectacle
in front of him. Instead he glanced at the beautiful landscape beyond the castle
and enjoyed the sunny day.

Now some soldiers heard the noise that was happening in the square and came to
find out what the problem was.  But as soon as the people saw the soldiers with
their weapons, they began to fight the soldiers as well. And the soldiers struck back.
With their weapons. With soldiers and weapons it all turned into war. Houses
were destroyed, people were injured. And someone fired at the castle itself. When
the castle was burning, the king and advisor stood outside watching the ruins.
"Your Majesty," the advisor began to say, but was interrupted by the king.
"Maybe," replied the king.
"Yes?"
"Maybe the honey our problem," replied the king.
Some suggestions:
Choose two people who can speak the words as the king and the advisor. Then one person
tells the story but the others say the words as if they are the king and the advisor.

The advisor can be either male or female, as both genders enjoy both roles.

You can also name the king and the advisor before telling the story, and you can let the class
name the kingdom afterwards.
