The same story of the week, but this time it is in English. Not our problem It was a beautiful, sunny day throughout the kingdom. The king and his advisor sat together and each ate bread with honey. The view from the window showed the square below the castle and all the people gathered there. While they talked about this and that,, the king leaned out the window to better look around. Just then a drop of honey dropped from the king's bread, but the king did not notice that it fell down and landed on the windowsill. And then ... Plopp, plopp, plopp (can use your hand to show the drop as it drops) The honey landed on the ground below the window. The advisor immediately noticed when the honey droplet landed on the street and immediately asked the king. "Your Majesty, a drop of honey fell to the ground. Should I have someone clean it up?" "No no. It's not our problem", the king replied. Soon a little fly came by. Swish, Swish, Swis...

Jag får ofta höra från andra lärare att det inte är så lätt att hitta användbara sagor till deras lektioner. Därför kommer jag att presentera veckans saga här, skriven på svenska. På tisdagar kommer lite tips och då kan det även komma tips om hur du kan använda och återkoppla till sagan efter att du har berättat för eleverna. Veckans saga #1 är en f olksaga som kommer från Burma och Thailand: Inte vårt problem Den var en fin och solig dag i hela kungariket. Kungen och hans rådgivare satt tillsammans och åt varsin riskaka med honung. Utsikten från fönstret visade torget nedanför slottet och alla människor som samlades där. När de pratade om både det ena och det andra lutade sig kungen utanför fönstret för att bättra se sig omkring. Just då trillade en droppe honung från kungens mat men kungen märkte inte att en droppe föll ner och landade på fönsterkarmen. Och sedan ... Plopp, plopp, plopp (kan använda handen för att visa droppen som trillar) Honungen landade...

           STORIES                                             Oral Stories are the building blocks of our communication and education and can easily be called the best way to learn information. While the right side of the brain uses creativity and imagination, the left side of the brain engages with the language and facts. Thus, stories use both sides of our brains, and a well-told story can fully engage the listener. A story is the quickest and easiest way to engage students in content and discussions. Because there are myriad benefits to using storytelling for education,  I will cover that in future blog posts.
